About 5D Executive

Why do capable people perform so differently under different conditions?

Two decades of building companies and coaching people under pressure kept raising that question. It's still the question behind every engagement.

Mark Santiago

Mark is the founder of 5D Executive and 5D Teams. His coaching and human performance work has reached thousands of people on leadership, relationships, personal performance and behavioral change.

That work became the foundation for the 5D Compass, a daily performance system that makes visible the patterns conversation and observation alone miss. It now runs across athletes, coaches, executives and high-performance teams.

His work has included leadership and performance initiatives with Disney executives, corporate training and organizational development with NewtonX, and current work with D1 and D2 college athletic teams. He holds an MBA in International Business and has spent more than two decades building companies, developing leaders and studying what drives consistent performance in people and teams.

Mark is married to his wife, Amy. Together they share a blended family of seven children and a dog named Charlie.

The work today

Five areas of work. Each one added to the last. None of them stopped.

Every area below is active today, and each one sharpens the others.

01

People in crisis

Coaching people through divorce, identity loss and major transitions.

What it teaches us: pressure, avoidance and identity follow people into work.

02

Human performance intelligence

The 5D Compass, the daily system behind all of our work: Foundation, Connection, Mental Game, Purpose and Execution.

What it teaches us: patterns show up over weeks that no single conversation reveals.

03

College athletics

Current daily intelligence work with D1 and D2 teams, for athletes and coaching staffs.

What it teaches us: when performance is measured every game, you learn fast which patterns hold up.

04

Sales teams

Closer-by-closer work with high-ticket sales teams, built on what Mark learned scaling his own team through more than 50 closers.

What it teaches us: every rep has their own conditions, and one-size coaching costs you your best people.

05

Executive leadership

Founders, CEOs and leadership teams, from Disney executives to owner-led companies.

What it teaches us: the patterns at the top set how the whole company runs.

The common thread

The common thread

Performance is influenced by more than knowledge and technique. What a person believes about themselves in the moment matters more than anything.

A founder, an athlete and a closer can all know exactly what to do and still not do it on a given day. That gap is where we work.

How we work

What we believe.

  • Compare people to their own best days.

Team averages hide more than they show.

  • Look before the result.

By the time a problem shows in the numbers, it has usually been building for a while.

  • Standards stay where they are.

Understanding why someone struggles is not an excuse for it.

  • Follow through.

Insight that doesn't change behavior isn't worth much. The work continues after the conversation.

Next step

Let's talk about your leadership team, your sales team, or both.

Tell us where performance is stuck. We'll tell you plainly what we'd look at first and whether we can help.
